Becoming a Contributer

So, you think you got what it takes huh? Brilliant! We are always looking for more contributers to our page. It is individuals such as yourself that keep this community alive and are vital for the survival of this website.

Be that as it may; there are some key things we need to sort out first.

Rules for Contributers

This isn't a lawless wasteland, we have rules that you must adhere to as editors of this wiki in order to ensure it is safe and effective. By creating an account and becoming an editor, you agree to these rules.

  1. Be Bi-partisan. This isn't a forum, or a blogpost, this is documentation on the game we all play. You need to make absolutely certain that your posts do not include personal bias; every opinion must be worded as a recommendation and be supported ENTIRELY with fact (i.e. Don't say "dont use prefab engines they're bad" say "Whilst you could use Prefab engines for the relatively quick setup, alternatively you could use Modular engines as they are scalable to your build and provide additional optimisation that only requires a lengthy setup the first time you construct your ecu). This is to ensure that readers are equipped to make their own decisions for builds that suit them, instead of being taken down a rabbit hole that so happens to be your preference even if you believe it to be the best option, readers need to have access to all options and make the decision themselves.
  2. No Harmful or Hateful Language There is a 0 tolerance policy regarding hateful and harmful language on this wiki. This is a place of information and learning, there is no reason that swearwords, slurs, or bigotry should ever appear on this site at any time. Any form of bigotry will result in an immediate ban and your contributions locked and unviewable. We will not hand out any second chances on this, no strikes, it is a one and done policy. We are here to help people learn, and the creation of a safe space is the first step to self learning.
  3. Keep things neat. It's paramount you keep your pages neat and easy to read, we do have a generic format guide should you feel you are unsure how to make or format your page, but otherwise it is in the hands of the editor. Whilst I am far from keen on inconsistency, I believe the nature of the type of game as well as the provider of the wiki will dramatically aid in the consistency of layout across pages. However, if any administrator notices your page to be particularly unreadable or messy you will be asked to change or update it (we will give you guidance don't worry). As well as formatting Spelling is also important, the odd spelling mistake here and there is easy to fix and fellow editors are welcomed to fix spelling mistakes on any pages that they see, however excessive spelling mistakes or a complete breakdown of the English language will be looked at, and on that note;
  4. English Whilst I do of course want this site translated into various languages (such as Spanish, Russian and French) the primary page is entirely in English as that is the domineering language across the community and my own first language.
  5. Ownership, Understanding & AI It must be noted that no one page or document belongs to any individual contributer, all editors are welcome to make changes and edits to all pages they see fit. It is the responsibility of the community to keep all information accurate and up to date, we're all human, we all make mistakes. That being said, I believe strongly in Credit where Credit is due; all editors feel absolutely free to add their names to the very bottom of every page that they work on (simply because most people wont look at history tab anyway). On the note of Creditation; This website does NOT condone the use of AI. DO NOT USE AI ON YOUR PAGES. Should staff find you have used AI in the creation of your page, we will issue a strike and delete the page or relevant sections. This is a community wiki, and ChatGPT (and all other AI's) are not a part of the community. You have been trusted for your knowledge, not a machines knowledge.
